Château Routas Rosé Coteaux Varois en Provence 2025 is a beautifully fresh and elegant rosé from one of Provence's most celebrated estates, situated in the heart of the Coteaux Varois en Provence appellation in the far south-east of France. Blending Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine reflects a longstanding commitment to producing rosé of genuine quality, character, and regional authenticity.

Château Routas was first established in 1992, and in 2005 Scotland's Sir David Murray took ownership, ushering in a new era for the estate. Under his stewardship, Routas has grown into one of the appellation's benchmark producers, consistently delivering wines that capture the elegance and freshness Provence rosé is celebrated for worldwide.

The location of Routas is spectacular — in the heart of Provence, equidistant from the French Riviera on the Mediterranean coast and the foothills of the Alps, surrounded by tiny medieval villages that cling to steep cliffs and overlook miles of spectacular hillsides, woods, and rivers. The Coteaux Varois en Provence appellation is characterised by mainly calcareous soils, which give the wines their elegant structure and mineral freshness.

The harvest is carried out early in the morning to limit the oxidation of aromas, with vinification combining pellicular maceration, separation of juices to preserve freshness, and cold stalling for more intense aromas. Each parcel and each grape variety is fermented separately, then the wines are aged on fine lees with bâtonnage to build roundness.

Pale, luminous pink in the glass, the 2024 is everything a great Provence rosé should be. Freshly cut watermelon and ripe peach aromas lead the nose, complemented by delicate floral notes, while the palate is alive with wild strawberry fruit and hints of mineral freshness, finishing crisp and refreshing.
