Domaine de Souch Jurançon 'Cuvée Domaine' 2020
Domaine de Souch Jurançon 'Cuvée Domaine' 2020 is a late-harvest Jurançon moelleux made entirely from Petit Manseng. It bursts with exotic fruit, held together by a beautiful, lively acidity, with each layer adding something new. Rich in body yet fresh, it's a fantastic introduction to sweet wine.
For more than thirty-five years Domaine de Souch has led a modern style of Jurançon. Farmed organically and biodynamically since 1994, the estate's south-facing terraced vineyards are carved into steep slopes looking out to the Pyrenees, and its sweet wines are a benchmark for the region, poured in fine restaurants around the world.
The fruit comes from 35-year-old Petit Manseng vines on clay and limestone terraces, a site that gives less overt aromatics and more freshness. The grapes are hand-harvested in late October or early November, when very ripe but before they begin to dry on the vine (passerillage), preserving their freshness and vivid exotic-fruit aromas.
