Domaine de Souch Jurançon "Cuvee Monplaisir" Sec 2018
Domaine de Souch Cuvée Monplaisir Jurançon Sec 2018 is a vibrant dry white wine from the renowned Jurançon appellation in the foothills of the Pyrenees, South West France. Produced by the pioneering biodynamic estate of Domaine de Souch, this cuvée offers a fresh and expressive interpretation of Jurançon, highlighting the aromatic purity and natural acidity of the region's traditional grape varieties.
Founded by Yvonne Hegoburu, Domaine de Souch has been certified biodynamic since 1994 and is widely regarded as one of Jurançon's benchmark producers. The estate's vineyards sit at an altitude of 332 metres on steep south-facing slopes overlooking the Pyrenees and the Pic du Midi d'Ossau, benefiting from exceptional sun exposure and a unique mountain-influenced climate.
Cuvée Monplaisir is crafted from equal parts Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng, creating a wine that balances freshness, texture and aromatic complexity. The distinctive terroir of clay and limestone soils with puddingstone formations, known locally as "Poudingue", contributes minerality and depth to the finished wine.
Tasting Notes
