Crafted by Freeman Vineyards, a boutique family-owned winery in the Hilltops region of New South Wales, the Rosso Corvina Rondinella 2023 reflects founder Dr Brian Freeman's passion for Northern Italian grape varieties and his commitment to producing wines of balance, texture and food-friendliness. The elevated vineyard site at 560 metres, combined with well-drained granite soils and a cool-climate growing season, provides ideal conditions for these distinctive Italian varieties.

Made from Corvina and Rondinella, the traditional grapes of Italy's famed Valpolicella and Bardolino wines, Rosso 2023 offers a fresh and approachable alternative to the winery's flagship Secco. Unlike Secco, which incorporates dried grapes during fermentation, Rosso is produced exclusively from freshly harvested fruit to highlight purity, vibrancy and immediate drinkability.

After fermentation in stainless steel, the individual varietal parcels are matured in seasoned oak before blending, resulting in a supple, savoury and effortlessly enjoyable red wine.

Tasting Notes
Bright and expressive, the wine offers aromas of cherry, red berries, briar and subtle hints of spice. The palate is soft, juicy and medium-bodied, combining generous berry fruit with savoury complexity and silky tannins. Fresh, approachable and beautifully balanced, it is a wine designed for relaxed enjoyment rather than long-term cellaring.

Food Pairing
An ideal partner for pizza, pasta, charcuterie, roast chicken, grilled vegetables and casual Mediterranean-inspired meals. Serve lightly chilled for a particularly vibrant expression.
