A pure, unwooded expression of Touriga Nacional, Portugal's most celebrated red grape, in its mother region of the Dão. Fresh and floral where so many Tourigas are dense and powerful — bergamot and violet in perfect harmony, with great balance and moderate alcohol.

The fruit comes from 30–50 year-old vineyards in the Serra da Estrela, the coolest sub-region of the Dão, on granite soils. Hand-harvested into 15 kg crates, whole-bunch selected, fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel with malolactic and six months' ageing in tank — no wood, so the aromatics stay vivid.

Vivid ruby of medium concentration. Fragrant and expressive: violet, bergamot flower, spice and pine leaf over a balsamic thread, complex and captivating. Elegant and markedly young on the palate, with good acidity and soft tannins, and a long, refreshingly mineral finish.

Impecável is the Dão range from Carlos Raposo's World Wild Wines — pure, elegant, gastronomic wines built to celebrate good food and good company. Raposo, born in the Dão, trained seven years in Bordeaux and Burgundy before nearly a decade making the icons at Niepoort (Batuta, Coche, Redoma Reserva); these are his own wines, from 30–50 year-old vineyards on the region's granite soils, made without wood so the fruit and the place speak clearly.
