Tubarão Vinhos Loureiro Branco 2024

Fresh, vibrant, and very lightly sparkling, Tubarão Frisante Branco 2024 is a modern take on Portugal’s traditional Vinho Verde style. Made from 100% Loureiro — one of the Minho region’s most celebrated grape varieties — this wine delivers bright citrus flavours, delicate floral aromas, and refreshing natural acidity with a gentle spritz.

The grapes come from Famalicão in northern Portugal, an area known for producing Loureiro wines with both freshness and texture. This gives the wine an appealing balance of lively minerality and subtle richness, making it incredibly easy to drink while also highly food friendly.

On the palate, expect notes of lemon, grapefruit, white flowers, and a crisp mineral finish, all lifted by soft bubbles that add energy and freshness. Light in alcohol and wonderfully refreshing, it’s the perfect wine for warm afternoons, seafood, salads, lighter dishes, or simply enjoying with friends.

Behind the wine is a fascinating local tradition. The vineyards are grown in historic “masseira” fields — unique farming plots carved into coastal sand dunes near the Atlantic Ocean. Protected from strong sea winds by raised sand walls and nourished by underground freshwater and natural seaweed fertiliser, these vineyards produce grapes with exceptional freshness and character. This centuries-old farming method remains one of Portugal’s most distinctive viticultural traditions.
