Watson Family Wines Shiraz 2016

Made by the Watson family — the very same family behind the iconic Woodlands Wines in the Wilyabrup Valley, producing there since 1973. Watson Family Wines is their more affordable, everyday-drinking label, offering elegant expressions of Margaret River across the classics (Shiraz, Cabernet Merlot, Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay) as well as newer varieties like Nebbiolo. Same winemaking pedigree, same regional focus — just a friendlier price point for easy, approachable drinking.

After harvesting, this wine was destemmed, but not crushed, before being ‘cold soaked’ on skins for five days prior to fermentation. Also, a portion of this wine was hand picked and left as whole bunches in the ferment to add complexity. Following fermentation this wine was matured in small French oak barrels.
