Woodlands Malbec 'Reserve de la Cave' 2013
The Woodlands Réserve de la Cave Malbec 2013 is a rare expression of old-vine Margaret River Malbec, sourced from the historic Woodlands Vineyard in Wilyabrup. Produced only in exceptional vintages, the Réserve de la Cave range represents the pinnacle of Woodlands' winemaking, with fruit selected from the estate's oldest vineyard blocks planted between 1975 and 1977.
Crafted in extremely limited quantities, the wine is hand-picked, destemmed and hand-sorted before fermentation in small open fermenters. Following fermentation, it is matured for 15 months in new French oak, building complexity, structure and ageing potential.
The Réserve de la Cave wines are renowned for their concentration, elegance and ability to express the character of Woodlands' mature vines. Among Australian Malbecs, these limited releases are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike.
