Deep purple black colour. The complex seductive nose has the archetypal Croft opulence but displays impressive depth, background and reserves of aroma. A rich, powerful fruitiness provides the backdrop for heady scents of blossom and rock rose. Luscious ripe berry fruit flavour surges though the palate. The wine’s velvety texture is underpinned by taut, muscular, perfectly integrated tannins which provide stamina with an attractive firmness and vigour to the finish.

Description
Excellent opaque black purple colour with deep dark purple hue and paint like cling to the sides of the glass. The nose displays aromas of inky liquorice, blackberry and black cherry followed by some fine brandy spirit as an end note. The palate displays excellent depth and concentration with flavours of liquorice, blackberry and spice followed by warm balanced brandy spirit. Dry finish with aftertaste of liquorice, blackberry, spice and warm brandy spirit.

“The 2007 Croft Vintage has a soft, fig and date-scented bouquet that opens up beautifully in the glass, warm and inviting. The palate is medium-bodied with soft, supple tannin, a fine line of acidity and a ripe finish with dark cherries, boysenberry jam and a citric edge lending poise and delineation. There is a nice hint of fieriness on the finish that gives it a little hubris and brio, though not excessively, since that would not be in keeping with Croft’s style.”
