Osteiner is a grape variety from a crossing between Riesling and Sylvaner (Circa 1928 Germany). As far as I am aware Rippon is the only producer of this wine in NZ. 30 year old vines on own roots, wild ferment, no oak.

Aromas and flavours of fresh citrus and apple, there’s a fresh cider note and very fine lees quality. Crisp and dry, lots of texture and vibrato, saline and fresh. Grapefruit and apple flesh, lemon rind and white spice. Fresh, crisp and dry. A perfect aperitif expression with best drinking from day of purchase through 2027.
