Brackenwood Vineyard Riesling 2022

$30.00 inc. GST

Lemon blossom and green apples belies the mere 2g/L of residual sugar.  Lovely aromatically and rounded out with chalky minerals, a complete and easy to drink dry Rizza.

The nose is fresh and lifted – florals, grapefruit, brown lime and exotic herbs.

Round and full with white peach and apple. A clean, chalky finish of substantial length. Riesling that demands a food match.

The 2016 Riesling was wild fermented using the wineries indigenous yeasts.

Description

Brackenwood Vineyard is located within the beautiful Hope Forest, nestled high in the Adelaide Hill’s sub-region of Kuitpo. The property is set in the most southern section of the Hills and was once a deer farm, where some deer still remain.

The Vineyard is biodynamic and all fruit is Estate grown. The vines grow on a variety of undulating slopes, 360-400 metres high in soils that are ironstone and quartz over clay subsoil.

Brackenwood strictly adheres to biodynamic winemaking principles and believe this is the ultimate form of sustainable production working in harmony with natural ecosystems.

There are stylistic expectations around Clare and Eden Rieslings, the paradigm of the grape in Adelaide Hills relatively undefined.  Brackenwood’s contribution is distinctive and delicious, a textural and mouthfilling wine with a lovely cushioning of fruit, a style of generosity over austerity.  Resting on lees solids to build texture, the fruit weight of lemon blossom and green apples belies the mere 2g/L of residual sugar.  Lovely aromatically and rounded out with chalky minerals, a complete and easy to drink dry Rizza.
