The Wine Advocate: 92+/100
Matured in used barrels from Chambolle-Musigny’s Domaine Roumier, this is the first bottling of Sunier’s 2018 Régnié, amounting to some 7,000 bottles out of a total production closer to 20,000. Wafting from the glass with scents of wild berries, potpourri and dark chocolate, it’s medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, with powdery structuring tannins, good concentration and a sapid finish. Recently bottled, I suspect it will perform even better with a year in the cellar. William Kelly, The Wine Advocate
“Deep, vivid ruby. A highly complex bouquet evokes fresh, mineral-tinged dark berries and cherry liqueur, along with suggestions of succulent flowers and baking spices. Silky and focused in the mouth, offering alluringly sweet black raspberry, cherry-cola, spicecake and rose pastille flavors that are underscored by a vein of smoky minerality. Gentle tannins sneak up slowly on the impressively long finish, which shows excellent clarity and leaves behind sappy blue fruit and spice notes”_ Josh Raynolds 93 POINTS
