Luis Seabra Mono A Tinto Alfrocheiro Dão 2021

This one is made from local variety alfrocheiro. Luis Seabra of course did his time at Niepoort and has strode out in bounds with his own project. Celebrations of local varieties, fresh, bright wines, organics and no additions.

This is precise and refreshing, tart with cherry and cranberry fruit character but its the graphite-like minerality, sharpy cut of fine, emery board tannins and the serious dose of alpine herb, brambles and garrigue that sets the wine apart. Razor’s edge texture and incredibly bright, exceptional length and fine detail. This is quite a remarkable wine. Revitalising to drink, in a way. It’s got great presence and energy.
