Established in 1923 in Katsunuma, the birthplace of the Japanese wine industry, Grace Wine is committed to producing high-quality wines that reflect the region’s unique climate, soils, and modern viticulture practices. In 1990, Grace Wine introduced Vertical Shoot Positioning for Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, and since then, they have expanded their vineyard to include varieties like Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Pinot Noir. Today, the total vineyard holdings of Grace Wine span 14 hectares, with the addition of the Akeno vineyard in 2002.
A highlight of their portfolio is Koshu wine, made from Japan’s traditional Koshu grape, a variety with over 1,280 years of cultivation in the Katsunuma region. Grown in the area’s mountainous terroir, Koshu grapes benefit from concentrated flavors, producing wines that embody the rich history and culture of Japan. Considered the true original Japanese wine, Koshu reflects both the natural environment and centuries-old winemaking traditions, offering a distinct taste of Japan’s winemaking legacy.
